Polished Overlays are special cement coatings, usually 1/2" thick, applied over an existing concrete slab. In certain situations, they can also be applied over a plywood subfloor properly prepared with 1/2" cement backer board.

Once the cement layer (topping) is applied, it can be ground and polished, basically like a concrete slab. Our cement product of choice is CTS Rapidset TRU self-leveling grout.

 

This cement is engineered to be polished and produces spectacular finishes, still maintaining the natural feel of concrete. It can be customized with integral pigments, stone aggregate, and even colored glass chips.
